Body of baby found floating in river

KLANG, Sat: The body of an infant was found floating in a river near the 4th mile Kampung Sementa in Kapar today.

An Indonesian immigrant worker who spotted the week-old victim about 3.30pm, alerted the authorities.

Initial police investigations revealed that the victim, whose sex could not be determined, had sustained bite marks on the head, believed to have been from animals.

Klang police chief ACP Mohamad Md Yusof said the river was located behind Sementa assemblyman Datuk Abdul Rahman Palil's residence.

He said the body was sent to the Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital for post-mortem. -- BERNAMA
