Housewife Charged With Attempted Murder Of Two-Month-Old Daughter

Kuala Terengganu: A housewife was today charged in the Sessions Court here today with attempting to murder her two-month-old daughter last week.


Maznah Raimuddin @ Mustaffa, 26, is charged with committing the offence by throwing the baby, Nur Iffah Zulaikha Mohd Affendi, into a well near her house at Kampung Pengkalan Arang, Batu Enam, near here, at about 1am on Nov 10 this year. The baby was saved by her grandfather who jumped into the well. No plea was recorded.

Maznah, who was unrepresented, looked ill and depressed and only bowed her head when the charge was read before judge Che Mohamad Zulkifly Jusoh, who then ordered that she be sent for mental observation pending mention of the case on Dec 27. -- BERNAMA
