(Football) Police and Perak player suspended for failing drug test

KUALA LUMPUR: Police's Shafiq Jamal and Perak's Firdaus Saiyadi have been temporary suspended by the FA of Malaysia (FAM) after failing a urine test for methamphetamine on May 4.

It was conducted by FAM's doping unit after a Super League match involving both teams at Hang Jebat Stadium.

Shafiq, a striker, has also been suspended by his club while midfielder Firdaus, who played in the recent Nation's Cup, was dropped from the national under-22 team's tour of Japan recently.

Both players can challenge their result by notifying FAM before June 16.
