Kelantan govt to take over management of state football team next season

KUALA LUMPUR: The Kelantan government will take over the management of the state football team next season.

The Kelantan FA (Kafa) executive committee (exco) endorsed the proposal from the state government in Kota Baru today.

Kelantan were contemplating to withdraw from next season's Super League following failure to raise sponsors.

In a meeting between both parties on Monday, the state government agreed to provide funds with the condition that they manage next season's squad.

"Everything concerning the team, players, contracts and sponsorship will be under the new management," said Kafa secretary Ismail Md Noor today.

"Kafa and the state government are looking into details to avoid any disagreements and it will be finalised on Thursday."

Kelantan are currently preparing for the new season under Zahasmi Ismail.
