RESIDENTS of SS 5D/13, Kelana Jaya, in Petaling Jaya have alerted Actionline of an abandoned car located near a field along the road.
A complainant, who declined to be identified, said the car had been abandoned for a few years now and it was an eyesore to the residents.
“Petaling Jaya City Council officers put up notices on the car but no one did anything about it.
“Last year, the car was burnt by someone, yet no one bothered to tow the car away,” said the complainant.
ACTIONLINE:
A Petaling Jaya City Council spokesman said its officers would check with the police if the car was stolen or used in any criminal activity.
“We cannot simply tow the car away. We have to check with the police and banks before towing away the vehicle,” he said.
He advised the public to lodge a report at the MBPJ hotline at 0379542020 or its Facebook page at MBPJ Aduan or the city council’s official website at www.mbpj.gov.my.
He also advised the public to be patient on this matter.
