A HOUSEWIFE claimed the main rubbish collection area for the community was not adequate for the large number of people residing in the Jalan Bayam area near Kota Baru, Kelantan.
Rozita Ismail, 42, said the bins placed in the area for residents there were not enough to cope with the amount of rubbish disposed daily.
“The bins are always full and many times we have no choice but to just place our rubbish bags on the ground,” she said.
Every day, the waste thrown will spill over to the ground around the bins.
The mother of two said the area was unsanitary because of the mess and urged the Kota Baru Municipal Council to act on the problem.
ACTIONLINE:
A spokesman for the Kota Baru Municipal Council said residents of the area should make an official request for additional bins.
“If there is a request, it can be considered.
“For now, the council will ensure the rubbish is collected regularly and the area cleaned up,” he said.
