KUALA LUMPUR: Malayan Banking Bhd has signed a deal with Perbadanan Tabung Pendidikan Tinggi Nasional (PTPTN) to be the latter’s panel bank providing PTPTN loan disbursement services.
Maybank aims to serve up to 60,000 students in public and private universities here by 2018 under the agreement.
Maybank currently has secured five participating universities under the PTPTN appointment, allowing it to serve 6,000 students, it said in an emailed statement.
“Many universities are using our services and this reflects their confidence in our system capabilities such as fully automated transmission with zero intervention, same day reporting after disbursement as well as any-time processing, including on weekends and public holidays,” said Maybank head of community financial services Datuk Hamirullah Boorhan.
“With Maybank’s extensive electronic banking facilities, students will enjoy greater convenience and easy access via Maybank2u, especially when they need to make their PTPTN loan repayments or other banking transactions,” he explained.
