KUALA LUMPUR: Sunway Bhd has appointed former minister and Performance Management and Delivery Unit (Pemandu) chief Datuk Seri Idris Jala as co-chairman of its board effective immediately.
In a Bursa Malaysia filing today, Sunway said Idris is now a new independent and non-executive director of the company.
Idris served as a minister in the Prime Minister's Department between September 2009 and September 2015.
He is also an adviser to the Prime Minister in the National Transformation Programme and a member of the board of directors for a few other organisations.
They are Malaysia Petroleum Resources Corp, Johor Petroleum Development Corp Bhd, Big Fast Results Institute, Talent Corp Malaysia Bhd, Heineken Malaysia Bhd and the Jeffrey Cheah Foundation.
