KUALA LUMPUR: A futuristic vision of the country’s transport and automotive sectors will be highlighted at the ‘Connected Mobility Showcase’ taking place from tomorrow at the Malaysia Agro Exposition Park Serdang (MAEPS).
Malaysia Automotive Institute (MAI) chief executive officer Datuk Madani Sahari said the showcase, expected to be attended by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak, would be held in tandem with the Malaysia Autoshow 2018, from April 26 to 29.
“It’ll be a visualisation of what the prime minister sees of the country’s automotive industry, the changes and development that will happen – how the automotive industry will ‘motorise’ the Malaysian economy in the future,” he told Bernama. MAI is the organiser of Malaysia Autoshow 2018.
Madani said more than 100 vehicle models would be displayed in MAEPS’s two halls while another was designated for the connected mobility event.
With organisers expecting a turnout of some 350,000 people over the four-day autoshow, Madani said a wide array of attractions and activities was being lined-up, including off-road test tracks as well the opportunity to test drive latest models.
“Visitors may also learn and experience for themselves what ‘connected’ vehicles are all about as well as processes linked to such vehicles,” he said.
The autoshow will also feature Intelligent Mobility Experience and special financing packages for cars purchased at the event.
“We will also have Honda to showcase their sensing technology, Proton that will do drift and Autonomous Emergency Braking demonstration by Perodua,” Madani said.
