KUALA LUMPUR: Malindo Air will begin its direct new services from the Subang Skypark Airport to Silangit International Airport (Lake Toba) Indonesia, beginning August 17, 2018.
Malindo Air chief executive officer Chandran Rama Muthy said the new services would be the airline’s third cities in Indonesia it flies after Batam and Pekan Baru.
“This marks our continuous effort to expand our route network to Northern Sumatra, as a result of our collaboration with Indonesia Tourism Board to promote ecotourism destinations,” he said in a statement today.
Chandran added the departure from Subang Skypark directly to the city where Lake Toba is situated, is the key advantage whereby passengers will enjoy easy access and hassle free travel experience at the city airport.
“The complimentary 15kg baggage allowance will add-on further value to travellers in terms of cost-effectiveness,” he said.
The airline said the services will be operated by the ATR72-600 aircraft, capable of accommodating up to 72 passengers.
Siborong-borong is the main gateway to Lake Toba - the largest lake in Indonesia and also the largest volcanic lake in the world.
Travellers can indulge themselves in the beauty of nature as the lake is surrounded by mountains, hot springs and waterfalls that come with breath-taking view.
Promotional fare is offered at RM189 one way and booking can be done through Malindo Air website ticketing offices, customer care centre and its preferred travel agents.
At 1:45p.m, the one hour and 30 minutes flight will arrive at Siborong-borong at 2:15p.m (local time). While flight OD361 will then depart at 2:50p.m (local time) and arrive in Subang at 5:15p.m.
