Malaysia Airlines launches Whatsapp service

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia Airlines Bhd has launched its official Whatsapp service to provide customers with flight booking confirmation and flight status updates directly via the messaging application.

The national carrier is the first airline in Malaysia and among the very few in the world to integrate with the the Whatsapp Business Solution.

Group Chief Executive Officer Izham Ismail said the Whatsapp Business Solution enabled Malaysia Airlines to reach out to more passengers, as Whatsapp was one of the most popular messaging applications, with more than 1.5 billion users worldwide.

“The new service will go a long way towards enhancing customer experience for today’s always connected customers,” he said in a statement today.

The carrier’s presence on Whatsapp followed the launch of three of its digital solutions, MHguardian, MHfeedback and MHchat in April 2018.
