Mohd Muazzam named CEO BIMB Holdings, Bank Islam

KUALA LUMPUR: BIMB Holdings Bhd (BHB) today announced the appointment of Mohd Muazzam Mohammed as chief executive officer of both BHB and its wholly owned subsidiary, Bank Islam Malaysia Bhd effective immediately.

As a chartered accountant, Mohd Muazzam joined the bank on May 11, 2015, as chief financial officer (CFO).

He was appointed as acting chief executive officer following the resignation of Khairul Kamarudin on July 20, 2018.

He has 22 years experience in auditing, finance and consulting. Since joining the bank, he has played a key role in the strategic direction of the bank, capital and balance sheet management, corporate finance, credit, market placement, planning and control of financial and general administration.

He is a member of the executive committee at various Islamic banks and chaired the steering committee of the project. He is also a board member of several companies within the Group and Bank Islam.

Mohd Muazzam is a member of Chartered Accountants at Malaysian Institute of Accountants, Certified Public Accountants with the Institute of Certified Public Accountants Malaysia, Certified Information Systems Auditor with Information Governance Professionals known as ISACA, which was previously known as the Information Systems Audit and Control Association, and Chartered Public Finance Accountant with the Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy Act.

He was also a Partner of KPMG and the Executive Director of KPMG Management Consulting from 1997 to 2015.
