Kelington secures RM64m China's UHP contracts

KUALA LUMPUR: Integrated engineering solutions provider Kelington Group Bhd has clinched several new contracts worth RM64 million in China under the Ultra High Purity (UHP) segment.

Kelington said the projects were awarded by the largest semiconductor foundry company in China for specialised engineering works for a few of their wafer fabrication plants in China such as Beijing and Tianjin.

The projects will be completed in two years and are expected to contribute to the company’s earnings for the financial years ending December 31, 2020 and December 31, 2021.

Kelington chief executive officer Ir Raymond Gan said the company’s recent contracts win further strengthened its market position in China, despite the challenging operating landscape today.

“The projects were awarded to us by a repeat customer whom we have a long-standing relationship with.

“We remained confident on growing our presence in China as we believe the opportunities in the semiconductor sector there remains attractive,” he said.

Gan said Kelington’s outlook remained promising as it got of a good start in financial year 2020 with RM105 million worth of total new orders secured in the first two months of the year, about one third of RM386 million total new orders secured in 2019.

“We will continue to work on sustaining the growth momentum through our expansion in the industrial gas sector while actively bidding for more projects across the UHP, project engineering and general contracting segments,” he added.
