KUALA LUMPUR: Serba Dinamik Holdings Bhd has bagged a US$350 million (RM1.47 billion) contract from Future Digital Data Systems LLC (FDDS) in Abu Dhabi, the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
In an exchange filing today, Serba Dinamik said its subsidiary Serba Dinamik International Ltd had on August 5 received and accepted a letter of award to undertake the engineering, procurement, construction and completion of a data centre and its related facilities, infrastructure, and landscaping there.
Serba Dinamik said the deal was conditional on finalising and executing of contract documents and both parties agreeing to the effective date of the works as of September 1.
"We shall complete the works within 1,460 days from the commencement date.
"The award is expected to contribute positively to the net assets, consolidated earnings and earnings per share of the company for the financial year ending December 31, 2020," the company added.
The project will be carried out in Mussaffah, Abu Dhabi in phases, and a master plan for a total information technology (IT) with capacity of 20MW.
The project forms part of FDDS's initiatives to develop series of data centres across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region to support the activities in Abu Dhabi.
It will also provide services to the rest of the Gulf Corporation Council in addressing the growing need in the market, due to the emergence of cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, Internet of Things (IoT) and big sata analytics.
FDDS intends to build a new data centre that can host mission critical systems and provide colocation services, business continuity and managed services facilities to local and international organisations.
Serba Dinamik said the scope of work included appointment of specialist consultants and contractors for management, design, procurement, construction, completion and the remedying of any defects in connection with the project.
