KUALA LUMPUR: Titijaya Land Bhd has signed a distribution agreement with Rubberex Corp Bhd to export gloves, personal protection equipment (PPE) and medical products to China.
According to a joint statement, Rubberex entered into an agreement today with Titijaya Land's unit Titijaya Resources Sdn Bhd for the sale of the former's gloves to the China market via Sinopharm Medical Equipment QuanZhou Co Ltd.
Sinopharm is part of China National Pharmaceutical Group Corporation (CNPGC), a China state-owned healthcare group.
CNPGC owns over 1,100 subsidiaries and six listed companies covering research and development, manufacturing, logistics and distribution, retail chains, healthcare, engineering services, exhibitions and conferences, international business and financial services.
Titijaya Land deputy group managing director Lim Poh Yit said the relationship with Rubberex would create new opportunities and synergies in the export market globally by sharing their respective capabilities.
"In line with Rubberex's undergoing expansion plans, we are also keen to participate and assist by providing our decades of experience in the field of industrial property development," he said.
As to date, Titijaya Land has completed over RM2 billion worth of residential projects and over RM1 billion worth of commercial projects.
Rubberex managing director Khoo Chin Leng said the company was confident about developing the synergistic alliance with Titijaya to distribute, export and sell its glove to China via Sinopharm.
Khoo said China is the world's most populous country, with a population of around 1.4 billion in 2019 and the usage of gloves had increased significantly after the pandemic.
"Going forward, Rubberex intends to become a significant player in the nitrile disposable glove segment.
"Upon completion of our latest phase of expansion, Rubberex will increase total installed annual capacity to 2.5 billion pieces of gloves compared to one billion pieces in 2019," he added.
