UEM Sunrise CEO Anwar Syahrin to leave on Oct 30

KUALA LUMPUR: UEM Sunrise Bhd has announced the resignation of its managing director and chief executive Anwar Syahrin Abdul Ajib effective from October 30.

The government-linked property company today said Anwar had relinquished his membership in the board's development, governance and risk and tender committees on October 19.

A chartered accountant by profession, Anwar joined UEM Sunrise as managing director and chief executive officer on September 1,  2014.

UEM Sunrise chairman Datuk Noorazman Abd Aziz thanked Anwar for his leadership and contribution over the past six years.

"During this time, UEM Sunrise has seen tremendous growth and maintained its presence as a leader in the industry serving our customers and various stakeholders in Malaysia, Australia and South Africa.

"We wish him the very best in his future endeavours," said Noorazman.

According to UEM Sunrise, the board had commenced the formal process of identifying a candidate for the vacant position.

The board executive committee has been formed to provide general oversight and governance during the transition period.

"The board of directors has full faith in the management team in managing the day-to-day operations of the company, ensuring no disruption to the product and service excellence for which the company is known for," Noorazman said.
