AwanTec, formerly Prestariang, trades on Bursa main board this morning

KUALA LUMPUR: Awanbiru Technology Bhd (AwanTec), formerly known as Prestariang Bhd, is traded and quoted on the main board of Bursa Malaysia effective 9am today.

Prestariang, which was listed in 2011, took on a new corporate identity, with stock name AwanTec, after a rebranding exercise to align its overall transformation plan.

It has moved from being a technology and talent company to a digital transformer with a future that pivots on digitalisation.

"We are shifting our business horizon in the direction of cloud computing and blue ocean strategies as we set out to reinvent and rebrand ourselves to capitalise on new opportunities to raise value to shareholders," AwanTec group chief executive officer Dr Abu Hasan Ismail said in a statement yesterday.

"Our investment and expansion into cloud-based services will allow us to adapt and align ourself to fulfil new customer's demand in the new market environment."

Dr Abu said over the past 12 months, the company had been rebuilding its core business in technology and talent businesses with new product offerings and services.

"The need for multi-cloud management services and system integration are more pertinent in today's market place hence expanding our service from just managing licensing to cloud services will add value to our business.

"We have also ventured deeper into employability market with full life cycle talent management that includes profiling, training, certification and placement services.

"This provides a holistic talent management experience with lifelong learning opportunities to reskill and upskill job seekers," he added.

AwanTec said expanding from just managing licensing to cloud services, the company sees greater future with new partners of similar synergies including Amazon, Google, SAP, Huawei and more.

Its cloud-based products and services are set to include Infrastructure as a Service, Platforms as a Service, Software as a Service and Anything as a Service, it said.
