Hong Seng appoints Christopher Chan as executive director

KUALA LUMPUR: Hong Seng Consolidated Bhd (HSCB) has appointed Christopher Chan as executive director with immediate effect.

He had also recently been appointed as director in the group's healthcare arm, HS Bio Supplies Sdn Bhd (HS Bio).

Chan said HSCB's healthcare segment will continue to be an important pillar for the group, and that HS Bio aims to be an end-to-end integrated healthcare provider with a comprehensive range of other products and services that are in the pipeline.

"We are playing a pivotal role to revolutionise and evolve the conventional private healthcare business by digitalising the sector through a seamless supply chain delivery format supported by our network of healthcare providers and partners.

"This shall ensure that HS Bio and in turn Hong Seng deliver strong financial performance," he said in a statement.

Chan has also been working closely with Malaysian Medical Association (MMA) through HS Bio's subsidiary eMedAsia Sdn Bhd to inspire general practitioners to embrace the accelerated technological advancements and new norm as a result of the pandemic, while enhancing HS Bio's network and credentials in the healthcare industry.

He noted that digital healthcare solutions, last-mile fulfilment, Covid-19 solutions and turnkey end to end labs products and solutions will be the growth drivers for the Group's healthcare arm going forward.

Chan's vast corporate experience includes companies like Open Dynamics Sdn Bhd and Joget Inc.

For more than 25 years, Chan was involved in the overall management of his business interests and helped developed the strategic direction of each of these companies.

This includes fund raising exercises, initial public offerings (IPO), acquisition of new companies, strategic investments as well as developing new local and global business partnerships.
