Optimax's Q2 net profit surges 1,668.64pct to RM2.09mil

KUALA LUMPUR: Private eye specialist service provider Optimax Holdings Bhd's net profit surged 1,668.64 per cent to RM2.09 million for the second quarter (Q2) ended June 30 2021 (FY21) from RM118,000 posted in the same quarter last year.

The company registered RM18.03 million revenue, an increase of 89.04 per cent from the RM9.54 million in the same quarter last year.

On a geographical segmentation, central Peninsular Malaysia remains the largest revenue contributor, providing RM10.87 million or 60.25 per cent of total revenue during the quarter.

The southern and northern regions contributed RM3.73 million and RM3.01 million, or 20.68 per cent and 16.67 per cent respectively to the total revenue, while Sabah and Sarawak accounted for RM432,000 million or 2.40 per cent of the total revenue.

Chief executive officer Sandy Tan said the improved performance for Q2 was largely due to easing certain restrictions during the Movement Control Order (MCO 3.0) as Optimax was allowed to continue operations.

Optimax is involved in the national vaccination programme (PICK) and MyMedic@Wilayah organised by ProtectHealth Corporation Sdn Bhd and the Federal Territories Ministry.

"Through our participation in these two programmes, we have derived a new revenue stream from the provision of vaccination services.

"Additionally, the company also continued to offer on-going promotions through online platforms as part of our marketing efforts, which had reflected positively in our revenue," she said in a statement today.

Tan said Optimax's prospects would remain intact for FY21 as the country was moving closer towards national herd immunity.

"We will be able to continue our plan to expand our market reach throughout the country," she said.

For the six-month period, Optimax reported a revenue of RM32.52 million, while net profit stood at RM3.50 million.
