KUCHING: Founded in 2019, Creamy Cream is a small bakery business which sells a variety of baked goods.
They make customised birthday cakes, cupcakes as well as sweet and savoury pastries, while also providing themed decor like birthday candles and toppers.
Abby Chiew, the founder of Creamy Cream, started her bakery business on her own with assistance from her parents and close friends.
According to Abby, starting a business during a pandemic was not easy, but she managed to pull through with help from her loved ones.
However, business was slow for Abby in the beginning, as she was only able to sell 10 cakes a month through pre-order sales.
At first, Abby only used Facebook as the platform to showcase her bakery goods and promote her business.
However, things took a turn for the better when she joined DHause in September this year.
DHause is an eCommerce service based in Sarawak that features products ranging from lifestyle, health, environment and food and beverage.
On top of featuring Creamy Cream on their eCommerce site, Abby was able to leverage on operational effectiveness and marketing tools, including photography services.
DHause also assisted Abby during the onboarding process by helping her to create an order tracking process as she runs her own home-based business.
With DHause's help, Abby successfully expanded her business to a wider customer reach and recorded an increase in sales.

GO-ECOMMERCE AND SHOP MALAYSIA ONLINE
As part of the Budget 2021 initiatives, the government is providing an incentive package worth RM200 million for the Go-eCommerce Onboarding and SMO campaigns.
This incentive aims to support local businesses from various sectors to get onboard eCommerce and ePayment platforms. It will help to increase the sales capability across these platforms, which in turn will increase their sales.
Under the SMO campaign, the government is providing the rakyat with incentives such as rebates, discounts and shipping vouchers to encourage them to make more online purchases with local businesses.
As for the Go-eCommerce campaign, an additional RM100 million has been allocated to help local vendors join the eCommerce platform.
Local businesses stand to benefit from both campaigns, as it helps reduce operational costs, ensures leverage on new opportunities, increases customer reach and motivates them to remain competitive in the marketplace.
