Extra security measures from Affin Bank to prevent scams

KUALA LUMPUR: Affin Bank Bhd has taken additional security measures to safeguard customers from financial scams. 

Among the key initiatives taken by the bank are high technology upgrades, advanced forward management systems, support customers' need on a 24/7 basis as well as modernise security systems and fraud prevention technology. 

President and group chief executive officer Datuk Wan Razly Abdullah said the bank had always been committed to safeguarding its customers from financial scams as the safety and security of customers remained its highest priority. 

"We made significant investments in high-tech upgrades this year to put the bank at the forefront of digitalisation, especially with the widespread adoption of digital payment and increased use of E-Wallets amongst Malaysians; where the need to safeguard information is even more crucial.

"Proactive measures have been taken in a bid to prevent customers from falling victim to scams. 

"These include a layer of protection through advanced forward management systems to detect anomalies and irregular transactions, enhanced support to customers' needs on a 24/7 basis, as well as improved security systems through cutting-edge fraud prevention technology in our operations to better protect our digital banking services," he said. 

He added that customers can also expect more innovation in tackling the trend and to provide a safer banking experience. 

"We remain alert for any potential scams and continue to protect our customers," he said.

In line with the Financial Literacy Month (FLM) 2022, the bank iss also organising numerous programmes. 

This includes mobilising the Affin Mobile Financial Centre and community engagements to further create meaningful value for customers and raising awareness on the importance of digital financial literacy to safeguard online transactions.
