KUALA LUMPUR: Zetrix, MY EG Services Bhd's (MyEG) layer-1 public blockchain infrastructure, is set to launch its cross-border trade facilitation services with a Chinese blockchain in the third quarter (Q3) of this year.
Zetrix senior advisor Datuk Fadzli Shah Anuar said the international deployment of the supernode to China's national blockchain Xinghuo was completed two weeks ago.
"We are in a phase where we are running all of the native Chinese applications on the international supernode to make sure that it is stable.
"Currently, the Chinese customs are fully integrated into our system as well as the Malaysian side and we are working through some of those integrations," he said today at a media gathering.
Additionally, Fadzli said a decision on the full production version of the service allowing as many companies to export as possible or maintain it as a pilot would be made later.
"There are some non-blockchain that are related to this and we have seen other pilots in other markets that may use blockchain, where their data privacy and laws around Personal Data Protection Act have to be addressed.
"However, we are confident that the pilot stage and the initial stage of this data will be disclosed to other parties.
"Whether we want to do it in production and at scale, it is something that we are working through with the authorities," he added.
On March 30 this year, MyEG formed a joint venture with East Logistic-Link Co Ltd to provide a comprehensive range of cross-border trade facilitation services.
