KUALA LUMPUR: Boutique property developer Rivertree Group is actively discussing with several potential partners for collaboration in renewable energy (RE) projects that align with the National Energy Transition Roadmap (NETR).
To kickstart its RE initiatives, the company inked a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Greenshift Solutions Sdn Bhd (GSSB) to give property buyers the choice to rent their roofs or invest in solar panels.
Rivertree and GSSB collectively drive the change, encouraging owners to adopt greener energy solutions and substantially reduce carbon footprints.
According to the company's statement, this pioneering initiative allows buyers a dual benefit.
In the short term, owners can generate additional revenue by renting their roofs, a groundbreaking concept in the industrial building sector.
Over the long term, the property promises improved rental returns, particularly enticing for suppliers and companies targeting the European and American markets.
"Our alliance with GSSB is a reflection of our long-term vision. As a developer, embracing sustainable and green development is imperative for our continued success.
"Together with GSSB, we are set to redefine the norms and set new industry benchmarks," Rivertree Group managing director Datuk Simon David Leong said.
With a clear roadmap ahead, Rivertree is already in talks with GSSB about potential collaborations for its ongoing and future projects.
Recently, Rivertree bagged the 2023 GreenRE Bronze Award from GreenRE Sdn Bhd, reflecting the company's commitment to sustainable practices and green building excellence.
The GreenRE Award recognises outstanding projects that demonstrate a dedication to sustainability.
Projects earn points by fulfilling prerequisites and garnering credits for their green-building prowess.
With this honour, Rivertree has firmly positioned itself at the helm of eco-friendly property development in Malaysia.
"Securing the GreenRE Bronze Award for our project is a testament to our hard work and an affirmation of our dedication to pushing the boundaries of green and sustainable property development.
"Our investment of close to RM1 million in sustainability initiatives shows our stakeholders that we are vocal advocates and active participants in this green revolution," Leong said.
Going forward, Rivertree will prioritise new property development projects regarding sustainability in prime locations such as Gombak, KLCC and Mont Kiara.
