KUALA LUMPUR: Meridian Bhd today announced that it will not be able to release its annual report for the financial period ended Nov 30, 2023 by Mar 29, 2024.
Bursa Malaysia Securities' listing requirements stipulates that companies release their annual report within four months of the company's financial close.
Meridian told Bursa Securities it is expecting to issue and submit its Annual Report 2023 within one month after the completion of the annual audited financial statements for the financial period ended Nov 30, 2023.
If Meridian fails to issue its Annual Report 2023 by April 5, 2024, in addition to any enforcement action that Bursa Securities may take, Bursa Securities shall suspend trading in the securities of Meridian.
"The suspension shall be effected on the market day following the expiry of the suspension deadline and shall be uplifted on the market day following the announcement/issuance of the Annual Report 2023 unless otherwise determined by Bursa Securities. Failing which, the company's securities will be suspended from trading with effect from April 1, 2024," the company said in the announcement.
The company's share price closed at eight sen at midday, with some 657,100 shares changing hands.
