KUALA LUMPUR: The shares of Astro Malaysia Holdings Bhd fell below the 52-week low to 28 sen a share today after the Inland Revenue Board (IRB) imposed RM734.9 million in additional taxes on its units from 2019 to 2023.
At 11.15 am, it was up 6 per cent to 29 sen from its closing price of 31 sen on Thursday.
It was one of the top ten most actively traded stocks of the day with 24.2 million shares changing hands.
Two of its subsidiaries, Astro Shaw Sdn Bhd (ASSB) and Measat Broadcast Network Systems Sdn Bhd were served with notices amounting to RM22.01 million and RM712.87 million (including penalties), respectively.
Astro Shaw and Measat Broadcast Network were given 30 days to appeal against the decision.
