KUALA LUMPUR: Ampang Hotel Sdn Bhd has announced that Concorde Hotel Kuala Lumpur is not for sale.

The statement was issued by its chairman Tan Sri Sallehuddin Mohamed today in response to reports that the hotel was available for sale.

"The owners and shareholders wish to assure our valued guests, partners and the community that Concorde Hotel Kuala Lumpur is not for sale.

"Concorde Hotel Kuala Lumpur continues to thrive, thanks to our dedicated team and loyal guests. Our business is performing exceptionally well and we are seeing strong results.

"Our shareholders are satisfied with our progress and the direction we are taking," he said.

Sallehuddin added that the hotel is fully committed to its continued operation and legacy.

"Now into our 33rd year in the hospitality business, Concorde Hotel Kuala Lumpur is here to stay. We remain focused on enhancing our services and expanding our offerings to better serve our valued clientele," he added.

Business Times reported on Sept 3 that the hotel associated with Singapore-based Malaysian tycoon Ong Beng Seng was being offered for sale for nearly RM700 million, including the neighbouring land.

Ong and his partners were reportedly contemplating selling to explore other investment options.
