Malaysian palm oil body says proposed delay on EU deforestation law 'sensible decision'

KUALA LUMPUR: State agency the Malaysian Palm Oil Council (MPOC) said on Thursday it welcomed a proposal to  delay the European Union's anti-deforestation law by 12 months.

The delay to the EU law was a sensible decision to ensure supply chains have time to prepare, the MPOC said in a statement.

The anti-deforestation law is due to be implemented on Dec. 30.
