KUALA LUMPUR: Centexshas formalised a strategic partnership with Airod-ADC to establish an independent aviation training academy in Sarawak.
The collaboration aims to transform Sarawak into a global hub for aviation and aerospace training while emphasising sustainable practices and human capital development.
Centexs is a subsidiary of Yayasan Sarawak focusing on among others, energy and environmental sustainability as well as training and upskilling the young generation to meet the technology needs of the state industries.
"The collaboration is aligned with Sarawak's vision to create a global hub for aviation and aerospace training in Sarawak while also investing in sustainable practices and the development of human capital.
"This collaboration marks a significant milestone in our mission to elevate Sarawak as a leader in aviation and aerospace training. Together, we will build a robust ecosystem that supports innovation, excellence, and sustainability in the aviation sector," said Centexs chief executive officer Datuk Syeed Mohd Hussien.
The partnership will also focus on encouraging responsible use of resources and integrating environmentally friendly practices in the training modules.
A total of six training programmes including certification aircraft maintenance, aerospace machining, and avionics will be launched by the end of 2024.
