AEON, Tourism Malaysia attract Singaporean shoppers via Black Friday sale

KUALA LUMPUR:  AEON Mall Malaysia, in collaboration with Tourism Malaysia, held its biggest Black Friday Midnight Sale last weekend at AEON Mall Tebrau City.

The event, designed to highlight Malaysia as a premier shopping and lifestyle destination, attracted over 800 Singaporean shoppers, the company said in a statement.

AEON Mall Malaysia had offered a round-trip shuttle service from Singapore to the mall, with pick-up points at key locations, including Bugis MRT, Suntec City Mall, Yishun MRT, and Woodlands Causeway Point.

EON managing director Naoya Okada described the event as more than a shopping experience, calling it "a celebration of community and connection

'This initiative not only promotes cross-border tourism but also reinforces Malaysia as a vibrant shopping destination," she said.

Tourism Malaysia Singapore Director Norliza Md Zain highlighted the agency's commitment to promoting Malaysia as a leading shopping destination for international visitors, and expressed excitement as being able to welcome shoppers to experience the country's retail and cultural vibrancy.

The Black Friday Midnight Sale offered a dynamic late-night shopping experience, including discounts of up to 70 per cent on a wide range of items, lucky draws, and exclusive Happy Hour specials from brands like Puma, Skechers, and Oppo.

Adding to the excitement, the first 100 shoppers dressed in black and gold received mystery gifts, creating a festive and engaging atmosphere for all attendees.
