KUALA LUMPUR: Thousands of Years Media (ToYm) is expected to help Malaysia's entertainment industry enter a new phase of rapid growth.
Recently-launched ToYm integrates new media with cutting-edge technology, actively building an innovative media ecosystem.
Its founder Jment Lim has long been dedicated to advancing the local entertainment and media landscape and establish the nation as an entertainment powerhouse.
According to PwC, Malaysia's entertainment and media industry is expected to generate RM58.9 billion in revenue by 2028, highlighting the immense potential of the sector, he noted.
Lim, who is also the founder of SunStrong Entertainment, expressed his delight at the launch of operations for sister company ToYm.
SunStrong Entertainment is a film and entertainment company known for investing in high-quality films and organising large-scale events.
The company has co-produced and presented numerous award-winning films, including Snow in Midsummer (Best Film at the Hong Kong International Film Festival and New York Asian Film Festival), Pavane for an Infant (shortlisted at the Tokyo International Film Festival and Hainan Island International Film Festival), and Howl.
Other notable projects include concerts for Fish Leong and Lo Ta-yu, as well as the Miss World Malaysia pageant.
Recent investments include the highly anticipated film Mother Bhumi, starring international superstar Fan Bingbing and directed by Malaysian filmmaker Chong Keat Aun, along with the 2025 Lunar New Year releases OMG! Mom's Big News and I Want to Be Rich.
ToYm's launch attracted numerous industry leaders and over 100 influencers, including Malaysian artists such as Jonathan Lee, WeiWei, Jordan Sen, Lisha Ho, Daniel Lee, Chezi wand Angela Chan.
"ToYm is advancing its four core pillars simultaneously because staggered actions could mean falling behind indefinitely," Lim said.
"Instead of building one pillar at a time, we adopt a holistic approach to rapidly establish a framework, enabling the four pillars to drive and accelerate each other's growth. These pillars may appear independent but are, in fact, deeply interconnected."
Lim said ToYm's first microseries, In Character, has entered post-production.
He introduced Teo Kim Foo, an international master of memory who will lead the company's educational initiatives.
ToYm plans to launch its fashion brand, ToYm Wardrobe, to empower its entertainment division, and the ToYm live streaming channel is set to debut soon.
ToYm also is in process of acquiring flowers.com.my as part of it diverse efforts.
It plans to produce globally competitive films, nurture the next generation of industry professionals, leverage advanced tools and platforms to enhance creativity, and execute integrated marketing solutions.
