Bursa Malaysia ends mixed at midday

KUALA LUMPUR: Bursa Malaysia was mixed at midday as the benchmark index was buoyed by buying activities in construction heavyweights.

At 12:30 pm, FTSE Bursa Malaysia (FBM) KLCI added 0.23 per cent or 3.71 points, to 1,601.04.

The key index moved between 1,594.75 and 1,602.38 in the morning trading session.

However, losers led gainers in the broader market 429 to 384, while 527 counters were unchanged.

Maybank Investment Bank said the healthcare index continued to inch back towards its 2024 highs with support from the glove players.

"Investors will be eyeing the US Federal Open Market Committee interest rate decision at 3 am on Thursday.

"With the continued interest seen within the health care space, investors looking to trade the sector may want to consider Hartalega Holdings Bhd as a potential buy," it said in a note.
