KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian International Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MICCI) has launched its e-commerce chapter with a roundtable discussion (RTD).
In a statement, MICCI said the initiative was designed to foster greater collaboration between key e-commerce industry players and regulators.
The e-commerce chapter will serve as a platform for ongoing dialogue, policy development and regulatory alignment, with the goal of driving sustained growth for Malaysia's e-commerce sector.
"The RTD centred around strategies ensuring the continued expansion of e- commerce benefits all sectors of society, especially underserved groups like rural micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and women entrepreneurs, and to strengthen Malaysia's economic resilience," it said.
MICCI president Christina Tee said the launch marks an important milestone in strengthening Malaysia's position as a digital economy leader.
Tee said the chamber is creating a vital bridge between industry players and regulators by fostering open dialogue to meaningfully address industry challenges, champion innovation and foster inclusive growth.
"E-commerce has the power to drive economic resilience, and through this chapter, we are committed to building a collaborative and forward-looking ecosystem that benefits all stakeholders, especially in empowering businesses and underserved communities," she said.
