JS-SEZ to attract more investments from logistics sector - Loke

KUALA LUMPUR: The Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone's (JS-SEZ) is expected to attract more investment from the logistics sector where companies relocate from Singapore to Johor, said Transport Minister Anthony Loke.

Malaysia and Singapore today kicked off the much-awaited JS-SEZ with the ambitious target of attracting 100 projects in 10 years.

He said the larger number of big warehouses in Johor compared to Singapore, supports the logistic sector which is one of the key pillars in JS-SEZ.

"Singapore still have certain advantages in its airports and ports and the trading but I think many back-end operations can (potentially) be relocated to Johor."This is something we hope to work on with port operators and authorities, providing more space and land for these purposes," he said at the CGS International 17th Annual Malaysia Corporate Day 2025.

Loke said projects like the JS-SEZ reflects the government's commitment to regional integration.

"By fostering innovation and attracting investment, the JS-SEZ is set to become a beacon of economic collaboration."

"Similarly, the Asean Highway Network and Trans-Asean Gas Pipeline initiatives underscore our dedication to enhancing connectivity and energy security across the region," he said.
