KUALA LUMPUR: WCT Holdings Bhd has announced that it will dedicate a portion of its yearly revenue to support Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives across all its business divisions.
In a statement, WCT mentioned that its total charitable contributions for the financial year 2023 (FY2023) amounted to RM2.9 million.
"Since its inception, WCTGives has impacted 680 beneficiaries and invested approximately RM326,007.79 on B40 families and women, underprivileged senior citizens, as well as students.
"WCTGives is also a platform for the company's employees to invest their time in community volunteering," it added.
WCT stated that it has completed 301 hours of community volunteering up to the present date.
Furthermore, the company is restating its dedication to its core mission of 'Building Sustainable and Thriving Communities' through Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives as part of its sustainability and CSR framework.
WCT Group group managing director Datuk Lee Tuck Fook acknowledged the increasing significance of striking a harmonious equilibrium between profitability and social responsibility, ensuring that business operations generate value for both stakeholders and society.
"Through the rollout of various CSR efforts, the company seeks to make meaningful contributions to society while driving positive change within its industry and beyond.
"WCTGives does not only embody our Group's purpose to contribute to society and environment, but it also underscores our steadfast dedication to achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs) through the launch of our CSR initiatives," he said.
