SHAH ALAM: The market for C-segment cars is getting hotter again, with the all-new Toyota Corolla Altis set to make its debut here soon.
Customers who wish to be the first to own the new sedan may place their bookings at any authorised Toyota showroom nationwide beginning today.
The new Corolla Altis will be offered in two variants – 1.8E and 1.8G – with prices estimated to be at RM128,888 and RM136,888 respectively.
The car is built on the new Toyota New Global Architecture (TNGA) platform which is engineered to deliver better performance, driving dynamics and comfort.
One key highlight that the car will be getting is the latest Toyota Safety Sense (TSS), an advanced integrated safety system together with other sophisticated features.
Fitted only to the 1.8G, it consists of Pre-Collision System, Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist, Lane Tracing Assist, Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, Automatic High Beam and Blind Spot Monitor.
The 1.8-litre 2ZR-FE natural-aspirated unit produces 139PS at 6,400rpm and 173Nm of torque at 4,000rpm. It is going to be paired to a Shiftmatic CVT transmission with seven virtual speeds.
A peek at the Toyota official website reveals that the Corolla is going to be equipped with 16-inch wheels, halogen headlights, LED tail lights, 4.2-inch TFT LCD colour display, single zone automatic climate control, rear air-con vents, 6.8-inch infotainment system, fabric seats and eight-way powered adjustments as standard.
Meanwhile, unique to the 1.8G are 17-inch wheels, LED headlights, automatic wipers, dual-zone climate control, leather upholstery, electronic parking brake, paddle-shifters, Qi wireless charger, panoramic view monitor and dual digital video recorders.
Finishes available are Celestite Grey Metallic, Silver Metallic, Attitude Black, Red Mica Metallic, and a RM800 optional White Pearl Crystal Shine.
