KUALA LUMPUR: In celebration of the year-end festive season and the double 12 sales nationwide Honda Malaysia announced its 'All-New City 12.12 Special Sales' promotion for the 5th Generation City's S and E variants.
Customers who make their booking from now till Dec 12 at any Honda authorised dealerships nationwide will be entitled to a rebate worth RM2,000 (terms and conditions apply). Registration of the cars can take place between now to Dec 31.
Both V and the unpriced RS e:HEV models are excluded from the promotion.
The S and E variants are powered by the new 1.5L DOHC i-VTEC engine matched to a Continuous Variable Transmission (CVT). The powertrain is able to produce up to 121PS with a maximum torque of 145Nm. The E variant is also equipped with paddle shifters and remote engine start feature.
Rear air conditioning ventilation is standard across both variants. The E variant also comes with an 8-inch Display Audio with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto Connectivity.
Both variants are fitted with safety features which include Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA), Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD), Brake Assist (BA), Emergency Stop Signal (ESS), Hill Start Assist (HSA), Rear Seat ISOFIX I-SIZE Type and New Rear Seatbelt Reminder. Additionally, the E variant also comes with Reverse Sensors with Multi-angle Reverse Camera.
The S and E variants are priced at RM74,191 and RM81,664 respectively after the government's Sales Tax Exemption - RM76,800, and RM84,800 respectively starting next year.
"In addition to the 12.12 Special Sales, customers can also benefit from the extra savings with the sales tax exemption which is ongoing until Dec 31," said Honda Malaysia managing director and chief executive officer, Toichi Ishiyama.
"The new City have recorded significant sales performance since its launch with more than 9,000 bookings garnered," said Ishiyama, attributing strong sales to the City's pricing and features.
"The 5th Generation City is very well received in the market and the bookings has increased by an additional 80 per cent within a month of its official launch," he added.
According to Honda, of the three available variants launched the V variant emerged as the most popular variant capturing 54 per cent of total bookings received.
High demand mostly came from customers in the Central region contributing 44 per cent of the total bookings. This is followed by the Northern region at 22 per cent and Southern region at 19 per cent.
The Platinum White Pearl colour appears was the top pick among customers representing 28 per cent of the overall sales.
More than 2,400 units of the latest City have been delivered to customers nationwide to-date.
