CHRISTMAS is just a few days away and for those who haven't got any Christmas tree or want a different kind of firs, why not give a live fir tree a try.
According to Niklas Frassa, the chief operating officer of Flower Chimp (www.flowerchimp.com), an online florist, live fir trees are very different form the plastic ones.
"The trees will permeate that fresh pine forest smell, giving the feel of a pine forest," he says.
This year is the first time Flower Chimp bringing in live fir trees fro Christmas, and they are imported from the US and Europe.
The trees are available in various height, ranging form 4 feet to 10 feet with prices range between RM600 and RM1,000 for each tree.
Frassa says the idea of using live fir trees for Christmas has been received well by the people here, and Flower Chimp has delivered more than 50 trees to date.
"Most of our customers are form the Klang Valley area and we provide the trees, together with installation," says Frassa, adding that Flower Chimp also sells the trees bundled with Christmas ornaments. The delivery, meanwhile, will take a day or two including set-up.
He says the trees can last for at least one month and can consume up to one litre of water a day.
On the business side, Flower Chimp has been receiving encouraging response from customers.
“We received a lot of good feedbacks from our customers following the October promotions and we are excited to launch the next campaigns this coming November and December. This is one of the most crucial periods in the year for businesses in general. From the business point of view, we are looking at a good closing for the year and definitely we are looking at more than 100 percent growth compared to fourth quarter last year,” says its founder and CEO Maximilian Lotz.
“From the consumer point of view, they need to make early arrangements before the year ends as people usually go for a long break until 2019 begins,” he says.
