#TECH: Conference to boost e-sports in Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR: Since its successful launch last year, Esports Integrated (ESI) is expanding its reach into the local e-sports ecosystem in Malaysia by launching the inaugural Esports Integrated Conference (EIC) 2021.

The virtual interactive conference is free for all participants, spanning from May 24 to May 27, and aimed to unite the industry key players, both locally and in the region, to further develop and educate the local esports community.

EIC 2021 is organised by ESI, powered by the Ministry of Youth and Sports (KBS) and Impact Integrated, with the intention of providing e-sports enthusiasts with the opportunity to gain insights and first-hand knowledge about the industry. From learning how to get involved, participating in the esports community and exploring ways to embark on a career as a professional e-sports athlete, streamer and even in organising e-sports tournaments, EIC 2021 aims to be the go-to conference for the local e-sports community to expand their knowledge.

The EIC 2021 will be held in two parts - the four-day virtual conference itself and EIC Play, featuring a Garena Free Fire tournament. The conference consists of keynote sessions and panel discussions featuring notable business figures and personalities. Each segment is aimed to provide the participants with an immersive interactive experience and networking opportunities with the industry leaders.

EIC Play is open for participants to battle it out in a Garena Free Fire Tournament, the mobile game that was awarded "Best Popular Vote Game" by Google Play Store in 2019. With a prize pool of RM30,000, participants can test their skills and challenge each other in an epic battle royale.

"Providing access to information and insights from various industry experts have always been a key focus of ESI and the Ministry of Youth and Sports. As established through the Strategic Plan for Esports Development 2020-2025, the ministry has always set their eyes on organising e-sports leadership forums and summits to attract event organisers, game publishers and developers, e-sports teams, investors, and brands to gather, sparking discussions and sharing their knowledge with our local esports enthusiasts and those looking to be a part of this vibrant industry," said Impact Integrated and Esports Integrated's chief executive officer, Ahmed Faris Amir.

"This engagement platform is aimed to bridge the gap, foster more understanding, and educate all stakeholders, with a goal of establishing Malaysia as one of the premiere hubs for industry discourse within the region," he said.

With the launch of Esports Integrated Conference 2021, ESI is on its way to accomplishing the goals set in the Strategic Plan for Esports Development, which is to establish a platform for industry players that creates networking opportunities, spark conversations surrounding the e-sports industry and provide access to relevant industry knowledge to local esports enthusiasts.

Registrations for Esports Integrated Conference 2021 (EIC 2021) are currently open and free for all participants.
