A NEW study by Proxyrack has revealed that Malaysia finished in third place on its list of the countries with the biggest overall screen time score.
The study said that Malaysia has the highest daily Internet time expenditure of all the countries in Proxyrack's top three — totalling 8 hours and 6 minutes a day. This, paired with a 96.8 per cent of Internet adoption rate, is just some of the factors that have contributed to Malaysia's overall screen time score of 7.56 /10. Roughly, 55.1 per cent of all Internet usage in Malaysia is accessed via mobile phones.
Taking the top spot with a score of 8.37 /10, is the United Arab Emirates. Factors that have contributed to this country's position are the fact that 99 per cent of this country's population are Internet users, and 57 per cent of the daily Internet time here is spent using mobile phones.
Saudi Arabia is next on the list with an overall screen time score of 8.2 /10. This country shares some of the same scores with its Middle Eastern counterpart, the United Arab Emirates, but falls just shy of the top spot due to having a slightly smaller daily Internet usage time and a smaller average number of social media platforms used per month.
