Fashion allows us to indulge in a world of imagination, and given the reality we are facing in the wake of the pandemic, we could use a little escape into fantasy even if it's just by dressing up.
Mimpikita explores a different realm, particularly the woods for its Spring/Summer 2021 collection, naming it Splendour in the Woods.
The brand is known for its gorgeous prints, but the team kicked things up a notch by experimenting with a combination of different materials layered over one another, offering a subtle statement.
Expect a lot of dreamy dresses crafted with materials such as linen, satin silk, cotton lawn, lace fabrics and even hand embroidered hats and belts.
With this collection, Mimpikita hopes to bring back the excitement of dressing up.
"This collection invites everyone to be whimsical and embrace the vintage in a new light," said one of the brand's co-founder, Nurul Zulkifli.
Mimpikita showcased the collection recently via the Kuala Lumpur Fashion Week Digital 2020 on hurr.tv.
Living up to its whimsical theme, the fashion show was set in the 'woods' but also featured a special corner to showcase products from its Kita Homeware line, a collection of printed plates.
"Be brave to wear different colours, prints and silhouettes as bravery is an act of having balance and tolerating uncertainty, especially in this troubling and strange time," wrote the brand in its press release.
The homeware collection and printed face masks are now available on www.mimpikita.com.my and its flagship store in Bangsar.
