(Showbiz) Syura lost 12 kg due to mystery illness

KUALA LUMPUR: Singer Syura is in constant pain these days.

The 32-year-old Gegar Vaganza contestant who was eliminated at the show's semi-finals last night admitted that she was suffering from a mystery illness contracted in Indonesia three months ago.

“I went to Jakarta to record a new song, but while on the flight there, I vomited thrice. Later in the evening, I suffered from cramps," she said in a recent news report.

“Constant headaches soon followed, but worst of all, I occasionally lost my voice."

Syura whose real name is Zuraidah Badron also lost her weight drastically.

"I've lost 12 kilograms since then, and the weight loss was especially drastic when I was competing in the month-long Gegar Vaganza," she said, adding that she was fortunate to have made it to the semi-finals despite her condition.

"Strangely enough, I've been having my regular meals and didn't lose my appetite."

The singer plans to seek treatment from traditional medicine practitioners soon.

"I recently met motivational speaker Datuk Dr Fadzilah Kamsah, an old friend, and he immediately said I didn't look well. On his advice, I decided to seek traditional medicine, for practitioners might be able to ‘fight’ this mystery illness."
