Singer and songwriter Aizat Amdan said Netizens should give new singers and songwriters credit when credit is due and refrain from being negative on social media.
“Talented newcomers bring originality and a breath of fresh air to the music industry. It’s best for music lovers to welcome them,” said the award-winner behind Hanya Kau Yang Mampu.
In an interview with Bernama recently, he said newbies might not be on top of their game yet, but people shouldn’t place such high expectations on them as they needed time and experience to grow.
Aizat, who won Best Song for Pergi in Anugerah Juara Lagu 24, cited Haqiem Rusli, Khai Bahar, Aiman Tino and Wany Hasrita as some of the new singers with potential.
“It’s never easy for any singer to obtain fame. We work hard to establish ourselves. Social media is a plus-and-minus factor.
“It brings us bouquets and brickbats from Netizens.”
“I hope new singers and songwriters stay strong, persevere and keep believing in themselves. If there is a will, there is a way.”
