#Showbiz: SHINee's new official lightsticks are 'blowing up' in Japan

KUALA LUMPUR: Popular K-Pop group SHINee’s new diamond-shaped lightsticks are a huge hit with fans today, especially Japanese fans.

Koreaboo reported today that thousands of Shawols (as SHINee fans are called), flashed them in support of their idols at the SHINee World The Best 2018 - From Now On concert held at the Tokyo Dome in Tokyo, Japan last Monday and Tuesday.

They flooded merchandise stands at the venue, to get their hands on the lightsticks which are shaped like diamonds and were sold out within minutes.

Each diamond contains a star symbol and at the bottom of it is a small hole to be used as a key ring.

When lit up, the "wireless control pen light diamond rings" glow in a beautiful blue-green, and illuminate concert halls as well as the night sky in open-air venues such as stadiums.

Two prominent K-Pop singers have also turned out to be fans of the lightsticks - Girls' Generation's Taeyon and Yoona who attended the Tokyo concert together and were photographed with them.

Netizens love these new lights and many have described the "seas" of blue-green light that they produced as pretty and phenomenal.
