KUALA LUMPUR: Top singer Datuk Seri Siti Nurhaliza plans to have another child over the next year.
She would love to see her daughter Siti Aafiyah Khalid have a younger brother after she celebrates her first birthday.
“Once Aafiyah turns one, I hope to have a second baby. I’ll be 40 next January and I’d love to have him or her before I’m 43.
“It would be great if the next addition to my family is a boy, for that means I’ll have a ‘pair’ of youngsters. However, God ultimately decides,” she said in a news report yesterday.
Siti was interviewed at the recording of her new single Anta Permana composed by Hael Husaini and Ezra Kong in Damansara Perdana, Petaling Jaya.
Siti said her husband Datuk Seri Khalid Mohamad Jiwa welcomed the idea of having a second child.
She added that they were both happy that Aafiyah was growing up fast and could now hold objects in her hands, and communicate with sign language.
“She’s such fun that I feel sad each time I have to go to work. She readily waves goodbye to me every morning,” said Siti, adding that she and Khalid had hired a qualified nurse to look after their daughter.
Siti and Khalid were married on Aug 21, 2006 and Aafiyah was born last March 19.
