KUALA LUMPUR: Popular actress Maya Karin criticises the need to build another 11 more malls in the Klang Valley as reported in the media recently.
Taking it to Twitter, she expressed her concerns saying: “We take away children’s natural playgrounds and build more malls. Then we open artificial playgrounds in the malls for them to play and for parents to pay. Bagus,” wrote the 38-year-old Munafik 2 star.
The actress of German-Malay parentage is known to love nature, spending her free time taking part in various conservation projects.
Her tweet has so far been retweeted more than 5,300 times and received almost 4,000 “likes” from her followers since she posted it on Sunday.
Maya had also shared her concerns with Federal Territories Minister Khalid Abdul Samad when she met him recently.
“Spoke personally with Yb Haji Khalid Samad and Ssk Zulkefli Mhd Nani this morning at the Labuan parade. We discussed Kiara park, general lack green pockets for the communities in urban areas and the football fields that r being sacrificed for more condos. I will follow up.”
