#Showbiz: 'Howling and creepy sounds from walkie-talkies' — Fauziah Latiff on 'hauntings' on set

KUALA LUMPUR: Set to appear in horror telemovie Korban Penunggu Hospital soon, singer-actress Fauziah Latiff revealed that “something strange” took place on the filming set.

Fauziah, or Siti Fauziah Sheikh Abdul Latiff, 48, said some production crew members were “disturbed by strange forces”, and she was only notified of this after filming ended early this month.

“We shot some scenes in a hospital as well as old office buildings and old houses. I’m lucky that nothing scary appeared before me,” she said in a news report recently.

“However, some of the crew later revealed that they heard howling, creepy sounds on their walkie-talkies while communicating with each one another.”

Directed by Eyra Rahman, Korban Penunggu Hospital to be screened on Astro Citra, stars Fauziah, Kodi Rasheed, Aprena Manrose, Fatin Afeefa, Andi Bernadee and Jaa Suzerain.

She said the telemovie was her first “scary story” and she played a mysterious character named Kesuma.

“I’m pretty busy, so I’d rather act in telemovies as opposed to drama series. I go for stories that are out of the ordinary, and roles that challenge me,” she said.

The last telemovie Fauziah stared was the 2012’s Ke Pintu Bahagia on TV3 starring Nad Zainal, Faizal Hussein and Fahrin Ahmad.
