#Showbiz: Diana Danielle very affected by husband's criticism

KUALA LUMPUR: Datin Diana Danielle and Datuk Farid Kamil are known to be a loving star couple.

However, when they watch their movies in cinemas together, Diana admits that her 37-year-old husband always makes her cry.

“Farid is a much more experienced actor than I am, furthermore he produces and directs. And so I welcome constructive criticism from him when it comes to my work,” she said in a news report today.

“However, being frank, he can be harsh at times, sometimes describing my acting as ‘atrocious’. I’m a sensitive person, so I easily get affected by his criticism.”

Nevertheless, Diana, 27, revealed that Farid was very proud of her when she won Best Supporting Actress at the 29th Malaysian Film Festival, for Hanyut last year.

“He also likes how I played Zak in Gol & Gincu Vol. 2,” calling it original and interesting, despite not liking my short hair!”

When asked about playing a university student in her late teens, when she is already a mother of two, Diana said she enjoyed it as the character was very different from her.

“The challenge of playing Zak includes shedding a bit of weight and act all ‘mean’. It wasn’t easy, but the cast who was mostly youthful and playful had helped me in my portrayal.”

Married in 2012, the celebrity couple have two children, Muhammad, 5, and Aurora, 2.

Diana’s best known films include Kami Histeria, Jiwa Taiko, Magika and Sembunyi: Amukan Azazil.
