#Showbiz: Yoona accused of plastic surgery, Sooyoung speaks Japanese in new film

KUALA LUMPUR: Girls’ Generation member Yoona looked fabulous when she appeared in a recent episode of popular show, Mom's Diary: My Ugly Duckling.

According to Soompi, the idol, who was a guest on the show about the mother’s of South Korean celebrities, was showered with praise for her youthfulness and beauty.

Unfortunately, Netizens were not in agreement with the sentiment as many reportedly expressed their opinions on something being amiss with her facial appearance.

While some just thought that she looked older, others claimed that she must have gone under the knife for a spot of maintenance work or plastic surgery.

But older pictures from several year’s ago if compared with her latest photos would show that Yoona hasn’t really aged at all. As the saying goes, haters are gonna hate! Or maybe Yoona is just secretly a vampire?

On a more upbeat note, fellow Girls’ Generation member Sooyoung recently talked about her upcoming film, Memories Of A Dead End.

Based on the book of the same name by Japanese novelist Banana Yoshimoto, the Japanese-South Korean production will see Sooyoung in the lead role playing a character facing a life-changing moment.

Soompi reported that the singer and actress had talked about her Japanese dialogue during a press conference for the romantic feature film yesterday in South Korea.

She said: “I debuted in Japan when I was 12, so thankfully I was able to learn Japanese. Ever since then, I hoped that I’d be able to one day act while speaking in Japanese.”

The idol added: “When I first read the script for the film, I asked the director about my character’s command of the Japanese language. He said that my level of Japanese was perfect for the character.”

Since the character is a Korean woman in the film, Sooyoung explained that it would still be alright even if there were certain moments where she accidentally mispronounced certain things.

“It would be convincing. That’s why I wasn’t greatly troubled by having to act and speak in Japanese at the same time,” she said.

Memories Of A Dead End is directed by Choi Hyun Young and also stars Tanaka Shunsuke, Ahn Bo Hyun, Dong Hyun Bae and Bae Noo Ri. The film is expected to premiere on April 4.
