#Showbiz: Indian rapper Badshah breaks BTS' record?

KUALA LUMPUR: Music enthusiasts may find it a little hard to digest that BTS’ record of having its music video Boy With Luv watched 74.6 million times on YouTube in 24 hours has since been broken.

The video of the single by the K-Pop superstars released in April has apparently been sidelined by Paagal, a single by Indian rapper Badshah.

Paagal, released early last month has garnered 75 million views in only a day.

However, a recent news report pointed out that YouTube hadn’t made any announcement to verify the feat, like when it acknowledged the achievement recorded by another South Korean super group BlackPink with its single Kill This Love to unseat Ariana Grande with 56.7 million views.

An entertainment management company from the subcontinent also alleged that the 33-year-old rapper had “bought” the viewership so that his song could break the record held by the hugely-popular South Korean band.
