KUALA LUMPUR: Actress and television host Datin Diana Danielle grew up without a father’s love.
The 28-year-old wife of actor and director Datuk Farid Kamil said on Instagram yesterday that her father was “briefly present” in her life before he left his family.
And even though she did not get to know him well, she always prays for his health and well-being, and hopes that he will be reconciled with his offspring someday.
She said: “In my moments of solitude, I always think of my father. He used to be in my life but he left rather quickly. Waiting for him to come back hurts me, but over the years I have gradually accepted my fate.”
Diana also said that she was thankful that her mother Norsiah Ramli was still with her, and had sacrificed a lot to raise her. “My mother is my teacher and best friend, she is my pillar of strength in life. And I also have a loving husband and two loving children. It is my prayer that Muhammad and Nur Aurora will always remember us in their prayers as they grow up.”
A Netizen Rohayati asked Diana if she knew where her father was, and she replied: “No, but no matter what happens, until this day, I always pray for him, because he is my father."
Other Netizens, including fellow actresses, praised Diana’s unconditional love for her father, and encouraged her to stay strong for her children.
“Beautifully said, Diana,” said Nur Fazura Sharifuddin.
“We all love you Diana. Stay strong, you’re a superb wife and superb mum always,” said Hanis Zalikha.
“Well said, Diana. I’m sure he will be back one day, and deep down I’m sure he is very proud of you,” said Gee.
“I’ve got a similar story as you, Diana. You’re my inspiration,” said Kariena.
“Super hugs to you. I was adopted since birth but when I found out later, I was distraught. Felt betrayed but today I feel blessed that God has placed me with wonderful loving foster parents. God always chooses His strongest soldiers for His hardest battle,” said Felisa.
Farid and Diana tied the knot on Nov 3, 2012 and have two children Muhammad, 6, and Nur Aurora, 4.
